I think this book takes place in the south. I think she gets shipped off as a slave for her parents debt. She will not get to go home for a couple of years at least from the back of the book. Other wise i think the book will be pretty good.

I predict in the book Lyddie that the girl will make a long trip to where she thinks she can earn money. But I think that she will have to be of age to work at the mill. She will have to live on the streets by herself and turn of age to earn money to find her family again. I think the book takes place in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

  3. Lyddie's family is poor. Lyddie will work as a servant and then try to work in a textile mill. She will make very little money and get into problems. After working as hard as she can she will find her brothers and be reunited with her family in a happily ever after ending.

  4. I think the book Lyddie will be about a girl that makes it to Massachusetts and works for the mill. I don't think she makes that good of money, so she keeps working and working. Once she makes enough money she won't be able to find a ride home, or her parents moved. I also have a thought that maybe her parents died before she made it back.

  5. i think there is a girl named Lyddie and she tries to make her way to Massachusetts on foot. on her way she will have to survive off of the land. When she gets to Massachusetts she will work at a textile mill. after she makes enough money she will ask to leave. but then she realizes that she is a slave there. then she will escape and go home. that is what i think the book will be like.

  6. I predict that the book will take place a long time ago just by the way she is dressed on the cover. It sounds like she wants to reunite her family. She will go to Lowell massachusetts. She works in the textile mills. She hears that she may never see her family again. I think she will though.

  8. I think Lyddie will get enough money to pay off the families farm depts. I think Lyddie will not be able to go see her family again because if she does she will get harmed or her family will be harmed. I think this story takes place around Lowell, Massacusetts or rhode island on a farm.

  11. I think that Lyddie will be a teenager working to help pay off her families debts. She will make a small amount of money, and may be on a contract to work for a certain amount of time. Since this may be on a contract she may have to work for a long time before she can go back to her family. She will struggle to make enough money and will be treated poorly. She may not ever see her family again, or as the same person she was before she had to work.

  12. I think that Lyddie is going to get to the textile factory and make the money that she needs but then they won't let her go home. And the laddie in the background will force her to stay there as a slave. Then eventually she will escape and go home and she'll find out that her parents are dead and her brothers or sisters if she has any they be in a factory too.

  13. I think the book Lyddie is about the industrial revolution. I think it has to do with the girl making money for the families debt. I think she will work in the textile mills which is during the industrial revolution. By looking at the back of the book the girl is trying to reunite her family. Once she gets to work in the textile mills i think she would have a challenge of getting home.

  14. Abe s i think the upcomming book will speak about the problems of the economic boost than the good things that followed. i think lyddie will have to go to the lowell mills and is forced into child labor. she might stay there and be a worker forever. she might die and never go home or goes home and everyone else has died. her family might even reject her for leaveing.

  16. I think that the main characters name is Lyddie. I think that Lyddie is a servant working to earn her money to get her family together after they get separated from either war or they lost their house. I think that when she gets there she realizes that she she wont get enough money to get her family back together but I think that she will keep on trying. I think that Lyddie lives during the Industrial Revolution and will work at a textile mill to survive and keep her family together. I think Lyddie is a strong willed person and is willing to try hard.

  17. I think this book takes place in the beginning of the industrial revolution with the way the textile mills look. I think that Lyddie will at the end come up with the money but will have a hard time doing it. I think Lyddie will feel very unwanted through out the book and will have to manage with the stress if she has it.

  21. I believe that Lyddie comes from a poor family from like maybe the 1800's or so and her family is split up. Maybe her parents are dead or died and she has to work off the debt that they had. So she works and then she finds out she won't be getting the money she thought she would be so she wont be able to pay off the debt. So she tries to run away or something. Then she gets bad tons of money for some reason and then she starts to find her family.

  24. This girl is working at the textile mills to earn money for her family. Something bad must have happened if she has to reunite her family. I predict she will get a job at the mills and make money but something bad happens to the family and she is forced to quite her job.

  25. I think that this is about a girl who goes to Lowell, Massachusetts, she gets there and starts working but is forced into child labor and slavery. She isn't paid and hardly fed at all, she must work all hours of the day. But she escapes when an inspector comes to make sure there are no slaves and she is rescued, given money and returned to her family.

She finds out that her family lost the farm and that she is stuck working at the mill. She never hears from her family again.

  29. I think it will be about a 10-14 year old girl and her brother who is forced to go work as servant at a textile mill in Lowell, Massachusetts. She is going to pay off the family farm's debts and to earn extra money. She will be excited at first to be making money and helping but when she realises she can't go home she will try to escape.

  32. I think this story will be about a girl that is paying off her debt by working in textile mills with many other young girls doing the same thing. I think they will be working on a cotton gin and they will be payed very very little. I think she thinks the job was going to pay higher and when she finds out it doesn't pay what she thought, she will have to work longer and the chances of seeing her family again are slim. Towards the end I think she will see her brother again but not her parents.

  34. I think that in the book lyddie, lyddie will be with her family in the beginning and will then be taken to work for freedom to get to her family but after working to get freedom she will be sent away with no food or water and no sense of direction.

  35. Lyddie is trying to follow her dreams, but her parents wont let her because she is to young to go work with her dream yet. So she tries to explain this to her friend at school and turns out, she is going to Lowell, Massachusetts too for a family vacation with family over there. Lyddie asks if she could come, but her friend says she don't know yet, but she will have to ask her parents and Lyddie says no I'll just go and not tell my parents that I'm going. So then she packs up one night to leave for Lowell and puts her suitcase under her bed so her parents don't find out. The next day, she is in Lowell with her friend and her parents and is not following her dreams.

  36. I predict that in this story that Lyddie is going to be away from her family for a long time. She will then end up being rich in the future and try to help out her family. Then they will be happy with all the help they got.

  37. I think that the girl's family got in trouble with the law for farming illegal plants. her parents went to jail with a 10,000 dollar bail. I think that here parent forced her and her brother to become slaves to pay for the bail out. When they become slaves Lyddie and her brother will work for a cotton farmer. When they go there they decide that they never want to go home. The farmer will finally free them and then they tell him they want to stay.
